Miscellaneous Lines @ Sign, Groningen

A groupshow with Sibylle Eimermacher, Ben Kruisdijk, Conny Kuilboer, Sjoerd Westbroek, Henrik Kröner

Exhibition views

MISCELLANEOUS LINES reveals a network of ideas and creates an open playing- field in which the connections between the individual works of art is exposed as far as the content is concerned. Concepts and materials relate to each other in a new way, content emerges by the interaction between the works and the space.
The result is not clear-cut and will be determined by the possibilities of choice which an undecided something is part of. The artists are interested in the way this undecided can be exploited and realised. From this almost tactile process an other constellation comes into existence in which new and (modifi ed) existing works have to relate to each other in various disciplines like painting, installations, assemblies, spatial interventions and works with social operandi.

I am not doing anything until I feel the need @ De Nederlandse Bank, Amsterdam

Artist Joanneke Meester invited 365 artists to visualize their personal interpretation of the sentence ‘I am not doing anything until I feel the need’. She reproduced the images in the form of a calendar, which will confront the viewer with this mantra everyday. The exhibition in De Nederlandsche Bank gives an overview of all the original works used for the calendar.

Light is the Theme
Representing light has always been one of the major fascinations of famous artists and this has resulted in the creation of numerous fabulous works of art. Light is all about emotion, energy, balance, tenderness, optics and depth – therefore, light is about watching and experiencing in the broadest sense of the term. ZomerExpo is looking for extraordinary works of art to create a dazzling visual spectacle.
